"Rubber insert nut?"

"Rubber insert nut?"
On either side of the plastic battery cover are two other plastic covers. They are secured by two fasteners. One is the plastic "screw" that
holds down the battery cover. The second is a torx-head machine screw that threads into a rubber and metal plug inserted into the body.
Does anyone know the part number for that rubber and metal plug?
The amplifier bracket appears to attach to the body with a similar rubber-metal plug. Are they the same part number?
Thanks.

I feel silly for asking this - but is there a proper way to install these? Thread in screw tightly until rubber deforms behind to hold well nut in place or ?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Been a long time since I changed mine but I think they just slip into a "fork" bracket. Then when you install the cover just run the screw down tight enough to hold the cover in place. Don't strong arm it.

Just tight enough to hold it in place, if you can wiggle it around, snug it up a little more.
SNUG is the key word here, by squishing the rubber, it deforms/expands, locking in place, too tight and you destroy the well nut.

So, a silly question I went to take out the screw, and it just spins the rubber nut and won't unscrew and come out. I'm tempted to just yank it out. What would you guys do?

Pull the fender liner, u can get to the bottom and hold it with some plyers.
