Default How can I remove my 19 spline wheel lug lock without having the key?

2002 911. My new brakes arrived and after I had the car up on stands etc I discovered two things. 1. This car has wheel lug locks. 2. This car didn't come with the key to said locks.

I need to remove these locks. They are getting thrown away as soon as they come off.

Do you have an idea about how to get them off without having the key?

there might be a code, 4 digits written on the option label under the hood
or in the service manual - WL xxxx
Porsche dealers sometimes have a master set

else, find out what size socket will fit over it, 20-22 mm - buy 4 of them and pound them on
unless your lucky enough to get the lock out the socket and reuse

On my Lexus IS250 i took a 3/4 inch socket. Banged it on with a hammer and removed with a 1/2 inch socket wrench. All four wheels....

I removed one with a 12 point socket as mentioned above. I tried the same socket on a second locking lug and it wouldn’t grab on to the sides anymore when I attempted to twist it loose. I took it to Discount Tire and they had a special socket that took them off with no problem. Maybe a tire shop in your area could help you out.

It used to be that most dealers had a set with all the lock sockets. Not sure if this is true anymore.

I had the same issue when I bought my car. Took it to the dealer and they removed them for free and even put on the new bolts.

Check every nook and cranny, I bet it's in the car somewhere!

It wasn't in the car. Oh well. Thanks for the help guys. I ended up going to a local tire shop and paying a guy to remove all four. Then I ordered 4 replacements.

Now I'l going to go replace my brakes. Thanks for the help guys.

Glad you got it done, but out of curiosity, did you check the spare tire? From the factory, the key came embedded in the back of the foam spacer/cushion in the frunk.

I once had this problem. Advanced Auto Parts sells sockets designed to remove wheel locks. Ironically, they are sold right next to the wheel locks.
