Default Different oil filter?

So, I ordered a new plastic filter cup, original Mahle, for my m96/04. The cup was delivered with a filter also, so now I have a spare. But, comparing it to my MANN filter the design is a little different, see the picture. The Mahle(on the left) seams to have like a stretchy fabric washer on top/bottom to more tighly seal the ends while the MANN does not. Is there any right/wrong here?

if the part numbers are right, then you're fine. No real difference between the two, either are good.

I don't know if this helps, but it has been discussed. Seems either are OEM and good quality filters. Do a coin toss

Those are the only 2 brands I'll use.

I've used a LOT of MANN and Mahle oil filters on LOTS of German vehicles.
It's the only ones I'll use, except for the Napa Gold on my 996 with the IMS Solution.
