Default CDR23 radio *****

I feel like a **** for even asking, but the ***** on my CDR23 act weird. When turning the volume UP, if you spin the **** too quick it will sometimes not adjust it -or- it will actually decrease the volume. Same goes for adjusting Bass, Treble, etc. If you turn it slowly, seemingly one notch at a time, that works better. They are very delicate in operation. Is this normal? If not, anyone know if this is an issue with the stereo, or just the ****? I see there are replacement ***** available.

Funny enough, I put my stock radio back in two or so weeks ago. It came with an aftermarket one installed but it had terrible glare. I noticed this as well, I am not sure if it's just broken or what.

Try removing the faceplate and cleaning the electrical contacts. This can cause some button non-responsiveness. Easy to check.

The CDR23 doesn't have a removable face - they stopped with the CDR22

Mine started doing the same thing about 5 years ago. Then it got worse. Often I could turn that **** one click at a time, to NO effect. I eventually set it at a place where I could hear it, but it wasn’t too loud.

i was planning on getting an aftermarket unit, but then miraculously it started working just fine. That was at least 3 years ago. As such I think cleaning the unseen contacts might be the ticket. Electrical contact cleaner spray would probably help.

Is there a U-tube tutorial for the 220 series?
