9 and 12 by 18 Wheels on a 996nb
I recently bought my first 911, an '03 996
The previous owner put a set of 19s on the car, but I'd rather run 18s
The fenders have been rolled and it's running k-sport coilovers along with some other suspension upgrades
I've seen mixed responses on the forums and am hoping someone could help clear this up
Can I fit 18 X 9 front with +45 offset, 18 X 12 rear with +63 offset?
And if so, what tire sizes would people recommend?
Thanks! I look forward to contributing more to this community as I learn more about my car.

I guess some of it depends on Tire Sizes but
On 03 Targa NB.
I run BBS 19x8.5 (53Off) 19x11 60mm offset
235-35-19
295-30-19
I feel it's pretty stuffed, You might get away w 9 front .

I think they will fit. I recently bought a set of OZ Racing 8 1/2 x 18 and 12 x 18 with 50 and 63 offsets for my 996.2. They were previously on a 996 GT3 and I have been told that they will fit. Planning on installing them with 245 and 315 tires.

Also can check the Apex Racing website or give them a call. They have tons of experience, pictures and examples of 996 fitments. They will be honest whether you are using their wheels or not.

great info provided
Looks like you can with enough camber, depending on tire size.

2.0 - 3.0 degree of Camber, Great for track work like it says, but that type spec will eat your street treads pretty fast,.
but it looks cool.....

I ran 9's and 12's in 18 inch diameter on my '03 996 Carrera when I owned it. Car was lowered. I think I was at ET40-ish on the front and ET63 on the rear for wheel offsets. Having a fair amount of negative camber dialed in helps clear the fenders. I think I had the rear fender lips rolled. Also getting your front camber by shimming out GT3 LCAs vs slotting the strut tops helps. Caster correction may be necessary to recenter the wheel in the arch after that.
Quite honestly I was only able to easily fit 245/315 tires on those wheel widths and still clear the fenders/shock towers.....and those same widths can be run on 8.5/11 inch wheels without a problem so on the 996 GT3 that I own now I have just stuck with the stock 8.5/11 wheel widths.

As noted a few times in this thread, you absolutely can run those specs. We recommend the following for a NB 996 (as pictured below):
Front: 18x9” ET46 with 245/40-18 tires
Rear: 18x12” ET65 with 305/30-18 tires
The 9" front wheel is more of a track/race specific front wheel for enthusiasts who want to support a wider 245 or 255 tire with camber dialed in. The 12" rear wheel option is also a more track/race oriented fitment reserved for enthusiasts maximizing rear end grip through 315/30-18 tires (mostly GT3's with an increase in power to substantiate that much rubber). The 18x11" ET60 provides plenty of width out back to accommodate 285 or 295's (and can even accommodate 315's in the event you do increase the tire width in the future).
Porsche engineers definitely prefer the 285/30-18 or 295/30-18 out back over the 275/35-18 (996 GT3 tire sizes are proof of that), but it really comes down to how you plan to use the car and what compound you would like to run (as not all compounds are offered in each size). I really like the PS4S as a performance-oriented street tire that can do it all, however, I prefer a 285/30-18 or 295/30-18 size over the 275/35-18.
I hope this helped

Front: 18x9” ET46 with 245/40-18 tires
Rear: 18x12” ET65 with 305/30-18 tires
- Requires at least 2 degrees of front negative camber.
- Front 255/35-18 tires may also be used but will require at least 2.5 degrees of negative camber.
- Front 265/35-18 tires may also be used but will require at least 3.0 degrees of front negative camber.
- Rear requires negative camber pending ride height and tire compound.
- Rear 315/30-18 tires may also be used, but will require negative camber.

I've been wondering if you ever got these mounted. Looks great, hope to see some pictures of the whole car with them on soon. I've been considering picking up a Targa so I started stalking your posts a bit when I saw you toying with the idea of selling a few months ago.

New Brakes/ Rotors-Akebono Euro Pads- Still need to install SS Lines/Fluid Flush w PSM
Paint correction in progress
Installed new BumperPlugs
replaced frunk hood struts- weak
Passenger side window regulator in wait - going bad, but livable
Updated full shots w BBS's at local farm land pull off
