Default What water pump do I have?

I'm trying to figure out what water pump is on my car.

Background: On the questionable PPI the tech noted the water pump looked new, and due to said questionable PPI I had a second one done where a different shop said it looked old. As I have no record of it being changed I went and bought a Pierburg OEM one.

Upon looking at the water pump I see bright shiny metal which to me does appear new. So, I'm trying to figure out if it's worth doing or not. I can't make out a brand, just "Made in Germany" on in. Is that a Genuine pump or something else? I haven't cracked open the Pierburg pump but pics on the internet show it as being black in color.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. It will let you know when it is crapping out, leaks, loud noises, pool of coolant under the car. I would let this one be.

German cars that I own (Porsches, BMW, and Audi) have water pumps that need to be changed on a regular maintenance schedule at 60K - 90K miles. I don't wait for the pump to fail because my wife and daughter (away at school with her car) would never see the symptoms and continue driving past the point when the red light on the dash has come on. I do not want to wait for the call that asks "Dad, what is this flashing red light?" Her Audi also has new battery, new starter, new alternator, and new radiator.

The Porsche water pump is changed at 60k miles, Audi and BMW at 90K miles, whether they leak or not.

How many miles on the car?
