Default Need help with wiring diagram

Hello,
I have a 2002 996 C4S and I need to tap into the left and right turn blinker circuits. It doesn't matter if it is the wire going to the tail lights or the side blinker lights, I just need this signal routed back under the dash. One obvious way is to remove the tail light and tap into that wire and run a wire from there back into the cabin. However, a cleaner alternative would be to find the wire running to the tail lights (or front blinker) circuit inside the cabin already and tap into it there instead of running a wire back into the cabin from the tail lights. Do any one know where such wire would be around the driver's seat. There are a lot of wires under the dashboard, I just have no idea how to find the right one. I've done a lot of work on BMW's before, and in a BMW I would just find a pinout from a light control module and go from there. Is there an equivalent in a Porsche?

Perhaps start with the steering wheel turn signal switch? Both circuits will be right there on the turn signal switch and go under the dash.

Looks like those wires can be found under your driver's seat.
They're listed as going to your alarm via a white connector.
The diagram shows one black with white tracer going to right side one
black with green tracer to the other taillight. Wire is 1MM in size and
located under dash as well. I would use a multi tester to verify.

Also, search for "wiring your side marker lights to blink". In there are the wires near the front wheels that are for the blinkers.

I was browsing wiring diagrams and I see that each signal that I am looking for goes to points labelled as VS34 and VS33 (circled in red). From there they split and go to various wires. What are VS 33 and VS 34 and where do I find their location?

Nobody? I would imagine that someone must know what these VS designations mean.

Im pretty sure the vs is just a splice point in the harness.

I believe they may be ground points where they run a number of ground wires to various juncture points. A schematic is just that - a layout of the various electrical connectors and not the actual location. Could be behind the dash, next to the fuse block, on the passenger side next to the power distribution box, under the drivers seat (a good one there) or on the rear firewall. I tried to blow up the diagram to get a closer and less fuzzy look but that didn't work. Seems I remember in the electrical diagrams a location diagram of all the grounding points on the car.

Remember voltage flows from + to -, so while a particular switch may have constant 12V, it is the connection to ground that switches things on and off.

De Jeeper, I believe that you are right. I guess the questions is how to find these. Perhaps not worth the hassle, I will just look for the specific wired.
DBJoe996. I don't think that these are ground points. You wouldn't want to ground the positive signal from the switch.

Did a little digging in my wiring diagrams. Now my wiring diagrams are for 98/99 models, not sure about 2000 and beyond. Anyway:
