I don't skimp on fire protection or gloves.. Worked corners and helped too many guys out of cars.
True this.^^^ Never driven a twisty track, but when buying protective equipment for driving a sprint car a counter guy said there were two different socks available. One pair was more expensive. I asked which he would buy and his response: "How important are your feet to you?" I bought the more expensive pair.

So I am guessing Nobody has a favorite pair of shoes they like to wear while driving. I have a pair of Pumas that are great. I will definitely check out the new balance.
As for the guy who wears work boots you must be one of those little guys because I can’t get my 13’s into the footwell.
As for racing shoes which is a whole other type of question you may have misunderstood here but it’s no surprise about the confusion with some of the guys on this forum. Bill I have no problem believing that you drive in bare feet. With the price of sneakers today you need to do what you need to do.

Nope. Im 6'-4", 195 with an 11w boot. I fit like a glove in this car. Im not saying there is a ton of room like my truck but spacious compared to a miata.

Seriously, for driving around town I have found that Nike makes some "Training" shoes that work well. Rounded heel, lightweight, thin front sole, slip on.

For track I would default back to my Simpson fire retardant high tops.

Nah, board shorts, tank top and slippahs are all I need! Boots or a good hiking shoe when I'm working though...Good luck with your quest!

One of my best friends is from Hawaii and I spit at the "slippahs". You're a real Hawaiian

My buddy drives 3 pedals in them too it's like an art form.

Check out the Pilotis.

I had a pair of Pumas (driving shoes) and loved them for the feel on the pedals, but way too narrow for my feet and I am not a wide foot. So, I just broke down and bought a pair of these on ebay for $25, what the heck!!!!
I figure I can get at least 3 more HP out of these, lol

I don't know if these are available in the US, but I also have size 13's or in European sizes a 48 and the driving shoes from Grand Prix Originals work really well for me and not very expensive either.

Vans Slip Ons on are phenomenal, believe it or not. I've been using them on my last 13 cars. I've also used Puma and Adidas Sambas.
