Default Ideas on keeping receipts and documentation?

Hey everyone - new member with a new (to me) 996TT. I wanted to start collecting documentation with all the recent purchases to replace parts on my car that have worn out. What method are you using to collect receipts in an orderly manner (without just dumping them into a shoebox)? Would love to see some ideas.

Buy a 3.5inch binder and plastic sheets on amazon for 20 bucks. When you go to sell the car people love seeing a binder of records

There’s an app called VINWiki that’s perfect for this. It allows you to upload pictures and scanned documents or to just make a post, all of which are tagged to the VIN and become searchable records.

Default CarFax

There is also a free service on CarFax, and you can set up service reminders for oil changes, inspections, etc. you can also scan receipts and save them there as well.

I do both a hard copy in plastic sleeves in 3 ring binder, and online electronic.

Yeah this is handy especially when you just want to look something up. I use this app.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...droid&hl=en_US

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/adobe-...r/id1199564834

It will scan the pages and then combine them into PDF documents.

Then for the paper itself... filing cabinets and folders? Is there a new gadget for this?

Likewise, file folder of receipts in home office drawer. At least arranged by date, but I rarely go back and look. Buy it, fix it, drive on

My car came with no records and low compression in one hole. Every dollar I've spent since is documented in a three ring binder in clear plastic sheets. It lives in the frunk.

I just use a folder as well. I try to keep them in alphabetical order but I also started scanning them as a backup.

I take all invoices and related Porsche documentation to our special collections library to be photographed for microfilm archive. I then take the microfilm and apply for cold storage in one of many federal facilities. Once I receive approval, I hire a armor transport company to deliver it to a secret federal agent that hand delivers it to the inventory specialist.

Ok... enough already... I throw them in a pile and shove them under my bed. Seriously.

I use a folder for all paper but I also made a one note document will all the infos on the services done by date and milage.
Other pages also include all the procedures I found on the forum that can be useful.

Here's an example of the note Im taking Ex: verifying the oil level each 1000kms.
I take in note each and every thing Im doing on the car with pictures, parts numbers, time, milage and so on.
I dont plan to pass it on to the next owner as I dont expect to sell the car but it has been more than useful for me. This type of file is also accessible pretty much everywhere.

Use the free MyCarFax app on your smart phone. You can add DIY maintenance records and upload photos of your documents.
