Default Clamshell won't close

I just did the emergency manual close for my 2002 cab. The top is secured but the clamshell won't close. The owner's manual says to push just above the brake light and I have tried multiple times (sometimes pushing very hard) and the clamshell won't close. Does anyone know why the clamshell wouldn't close at this point?

Fair warning: using the emergency manual close procedure can really screw up the works of the convertible top mechanism. Things get out of sequence. Things break.

What's the reason that you did the emergency manual close? Maybe the original fault or problem is interfering with the clamshell movement?

You could also try spinning the clamshell drive axle clockwise (opposite from what you did to open the clamshell) to get it started.
