Oh I am familiar with the 3 cylinder two strokes, I had a 1974 Kawasaki 400 triple, and have raced/ridden the 750 and 500 triple (widowmakers) . I had the first 750 triple I ever rode dump me off the back when it hooked up on the pipe..lol The triple two stokes were the most fabulous sound I have ever heard, I just figure the V4 two-stroke would be a cut above, just haven't had the pleasure.

Oh yes, the H2 was a beast! And yea, the V4 smokers are glorious sounding!

Probably should have kept a nice rust free 65 Mustang 289 4-speed I had in the 90s. Most 65s had the automatic or base 3-speed manual.

Car I regret not buying that I inspected was a highly original rust free 66 Shelby GT350. A friend of a friend had it at his house in Atlanta. He was building a new house, went over budget, and needed some cash. He offered it to me for 10k. I decided to buy a new Mustang GT instead for 13k. This was in 1985.

There was also a Lamborghini Miura for sale about 15 miles from my house in the late 80s. They were asking 40k, which I thought was too much, so I didn't bother looking at it.

I never have a problem getting excited about buying a new vehicle, just not very good at letting them go. As such, I haven’t sold any of them in almost 20 years and still use them all as much as possible. Other than the 996, here’s the rest of the herd...

I had an uncle just a couple years older than me that had a Red 66 GT350 in high school that we double dated in and street raced all over Alabama and Florida. I kept the valve adjusted and tuned up, but after we settled down and got married I told him if he ever wanted to sell I wanted it. He had a new baby on the way and sent word through my sister that he wanted to sell the Shelby, I was living in a small apartment and wasn't in tough very much, so when I learned he wanted to sell it was too late. He had sold it for $2500 bucks( cost 5k new)This would have been in 1975, so it was 9 years old. The car had seen better days, the fiberglass hood had spider webbed, the engine was grimy, and the tri-Y headers were leaking, but it was all still there and running !!!

Seeing lots of cars in this thread bringing memories. I had a '85 GT that I loved. I would say I wish I would've kept it, but I totaled it. Lots of shenanigans in that car!

I loved my 85 GT. Factory ordered it just the way I wanted it. It got punted into a concrete divider on the highway one rainy night while my sister was driving it. No one was hurt, but the car was destroyed.

In '82 saw a 66 Shelby GT350 mint condition in a tow yard, employee said $6500 which was way more than this high school boy had.

Wanted a 65 fastback but at a motorcycle dealer was struck by lightning; Firecracker Red 1982 GPZ 550. Bought that model cash included Bell helmet and blessed to still be alive today.

I don't know why I enjoyed this car so much. Was a perfect winter car with mechanical feeling and old school quattro with toggleable locking differential at rear.

And here's the TT that was my first "high performance" car with ~400hp. It was actually faster than my 911 at least on a straight line. Traded it for that white Mercedes which someone crashed into while it was parked and used the insurance money to buy 911.

I had a 1986 Honda NS400R back in '86...it's the one I wish I'd have held onto. Saw lots of RZ500 tailpipes at Mosport back then, being down 100cc was painful at Mosport.

1966 Vette BB 427, Owner her for 15 years, rebuilt her from the chassis up my self. It was as much fun working on her as it was driving her. She is with her new owner somewhere in the North East now.

I've owned a lot of cool vehicles..vettes, turbo talon, stealth and others but one of my favorite cars ever was an 89 accord lxi 5 speed...lol
I don't know why but even today I still miss this car, in fact i saw one driving on the freeway a few days ago and wanted to follow the guy home and ask if he wanted to sell(don't know if it was a stick or not)
and my 69 roadrunner 383 4 speed with a hurst pistol grip shifter

It was fun to drive...scary but fun.

Don't let the kid get one!

Those cars try to kill you every time you start it.

If it doesn't succeed at that it will try to bankrupt you.
