They are very different cars, of course. I prefer the torque curve of a FSI engine for my purposes.

Not a choice I considered. I have a 2005 C4S 996 coupe. One of 728 built and sold as a 2005 as it was the last year for the 996. Not rare but a small population. Turbos have their attraction but it comes with other costly considerations. I do NOT track nor pylon race and don't plan to with this car. The F6I increase in HP and torque is nice and fun, but my main consideration was to get it reconstructed RIGHT and ONCE! This engine has finally given me confidence in the reliability of my car. I could not be happier!

In other words, how does a stage 2 compare to a turbo?

The turbo will dominate the N/A 996 even in stock from. They are very easy to reprogram and add more boost. At that point point the N/A will stand zero chance to be anywhere near it. I've been in a 997TT with a tune that was pushing near 600hp on nothing but a tune and some aftermarket mufflers (for sound). Fastest car I've ever been. I would imagine a 996TT with a tune would not be that far behind the 997TT. If you want a cheap hight hp car and know how to turn a wrench then look no further than an '03-'05 Benz AMG CL55 or E55. They come with 500ft/lb of torque in stock from. They are stupid fast for what they are and you can get them between $10-$15K CDN around here.

I appreciate it. It’s definitely a keeper in my book. Just brought her in to get a RSS Bar installed, painted speed yellow of course!

Finally got the RSS bar installed. The first shop I brought it to had no clue so took it to HBi Automotive and they were great to work with!
