CEL CODE P0174 only, What now??
The saga continues with "Christine" the red 03 Porsche 996 from hell. After working tirelessly for about a month trying to figure out the snowflake issue its time to address the repeatable P0174 check engine light code. I get this every tank or so of fuel.. Im pretty sure its not a simple gas cap loose CEL. the code reads as Bank 2 lean at idle. The light only comes on when I am stopped I have never seen it come on while driving.
My question is, what could cause this? I tried two different MAF sensors, same thing. I only get the one code.. if the problem was an air leak before the MAF I would think I would get codes for both banks, not just bank 2?
Thanks for all your inputs...

P0174 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation, Idle Range, Bank 2 – Above Limit
Possible fault cause
- Incorrect signal from MAF sensor
- Intake air system leaking
- Fuel pressure too low
- Volume supply of fuel pump too low
- Fuel injectors fouled
- PCV valve leaks
- Cap of oil filler neck not closed correctly or seal is damaged

No need to fix the CEL, I found the solution. This is the ultimate solution for all my 996 POS issues...
Traded it in for a Tacoma truck.. I'm out...
done with this car, done with this brand. no more worrying I will end up like Shawn with dropped valve guides and blown motor going 10mph.
Thanks for all your inputs and help. Its been real.

TRD off road, 4x4. quad cab, I wanted the 6 foot bed, but the one they had on the lot that was not longer than my garage was a bit overpriced for me. Driving it home was surreal. its a truck, and nothing compares to driving a porsche, the boxter or the 996, both awesome in the saddle. but if your porsche is in the shop or in the driveway waiting for parts, might as well get a 6 foot poster of a 911 GT2 and hang that up to look at, because that's all you really have anyway.
At least I can feel good that I solved the snowflake problem that was plaguing me for months. who would have thought an ignition switch could release so many gremlins?

Quitter !!!! Just kidding, the two happiest days of your automotive life, the day you get your 996 and the day you get rid of it !! The 996 is not for everyone, but it will be your favorite mistake !!!
