Default What is this?

Saw this 997 at a massive “cars and coffee” in NJ this morning. C4R? Ruf? Interior seemed stock. Thanks

Looks like a modified 997 with some homemade badge engineering.

I wonder what the reasoning is. I am all for doing your own thing but sometimes I genuinely question what people are thinking. I use to work at a shop that did a lot of performance mods for German cars. We had a guy with a fairly pedestrian German car that dumped a ton of money into, like $20k. He had flames painted on the side of it and some other questionable stuff. He would always talk about how the dealer offered him $40k for a trade in on a car that retailed at $25k.

Homemade badge engineering is always odd to me. There was a guy over on 6speedonline.com who had a 996 with a custom turbocharger. He openly considered several different names for it, and ultimately decided to call it a GT4. I imagine he has reconsidered that since Porsche now sells a GT4 version of the Cayman.
