Sorry, nothing nefarious intended. I just felt like I was wallowing and feeling sorry for myself and deleted my post. I am not sure what I will do. If I take it to a carmax I will lose a ton. Do I don’t want to sell it and not disclose it. I am thinking I should replace the IMS. Then drive it for 500 miles and check the oil again. Suggestions? Trying to figure out how to post a pic. There were no big pieces just hair like shavings.

Download pic on your computer and then click^ the picture link above...It's easy!

Or, just copy and paste, doesn't always work for me though.

If any one has a sig other you can understand the feeling when you share the news from the mechanic. I got a load of I told you so!

So I was down in the dumps about it all.

No, I will not, pass it on to someone else without disclosure. I would feel wrong about that.

so my question is what to do now.

Bill, I will try to post the pic later.

ok, what are the odds that is coming from the IMS? If I replace it and I change the oil again after some time and there are no,shavings then I know that was the cause. But what about the damage the pieces did in the engine? What if I replace the IMS and there are still shavings?

But I am committed at this point. I have seen the help you guys have given other posters. I will take suggestions and advice.

thanks again.
