I find the interior of my 996 quite nice. It is all black. Gauges are all easily readable. I am not fussy on hvac controls. (Wish Imcould get the euro manual controls). I like that it does NOT have NAV. When deciding on a car, I did not like the 997 interior. Silver, gray and black. The ugliest NAV I have ever seen. I spent $2500 on factory NAV in my Jeep and now only use my iPhone for NAV.
Yeah, I have a one-owner 2007 G-35 and I never use the nav or radio in it and, unfortunately, the nav, radio, HVAC, backup camera display and config menus are all in one unit so I'm stuck with this giant display that only gets used for the backup camera, changing in and out of daylight savings, and resetting everything the way I want after a battery replacement.
