Could 18x9 ET45 front, 18x11 ET40 rear wheels fit on a 2003 911 Cabriolet?
Hey guys/gals,
I am selling a brand new set of Forgeline GA1R open lug cap wheels for Porsche bolt pattern and I want to learn if these offsets, particularly the rear, would be possible to put on a 2003 Porsche 911 Cabriolet. I did originally spec these wheels for a wide body fitment (2002 Turbo), then ended up selling the car before I ever used them. I have a potential local buyer for them who has a 2003 911 Cabriolet. I suspect the fronts will be no problem as it is shared across the two models, but I fear that the rears will be too aggressive and stick out on the narrow body that he has.
Actual specs of the Forgeline GA1R wheels in question:
Front: 18x9.0 (ET45)
Rear: 18x12 (ET40)
Does anyone have any reference for this offset and width ever being used successfully on a narrow body 911? If so, could they share how it was made to fit properly? Thanks so much as I don't want to give him a problematic project despite his desire for these awesome wheels.

try inputting the sizes here. Should give you an idea if it will work or not.

Thanks for that reply. Do you think an aftermarket coil-over suspension would make this more feasible for him, or would other parts and adjust-ability also be needed? I appreciate it.

Are they 11s or 12s? I have MkII GT3 wheels (11 inch at ET63) in the rear of my NB with 5 mm spacers. THis makes them effectively ET58 and that gets them pretty flush so if they are 11s then it may stick out a bit with the extra 18 mm. If they are 12s, they will stick an additional 12.7 mm which makes it over 30 mm beyond my setup. Steve, you know my yellow Dundon car...use that as the reference.

No way a set of 40’s is going to fit on the rear of a narrow body. I ran a set of 50mm offsets onthe rear of mine years back and even with rolled fenders the rubbed regularly. The 40’s are almost 30mm farther out than the stock wheels. Save your money and get a set that fits properly.

Thanks guys, I didn't think these would fit on the rear of a narrow body either, but we wanted to rule it out conclusively. I appreciate it, and these wheels are still available to a wide body home.
