If you know anyone on the 'drifter scene' they would gladly take those tires from you. We met some of them at a track event a few months ago... they love used, dryrotted tires.

Ask for your tires back when the mount the new ones, then sawzall them in half, then dispose. Problem solved.
Are you more worries that some unsuspecting person is going to buy them, or the fact the shop charges a "disposal fee" but then resells them for a profit lmao!

I do not want some uninformed (not US of course) person to buy these as used tires (they look like new, as the car was always garaged, and the tires probably only have 2-3000 mies on them) and think he is SAFE
How many "average" people know about date codes on tires...

Of course most of you don’t understand your own argument. You are arguing that we need to destroy these tires for the greater good. These tires could just as easily take the doctor that will end AIDS to medical school for all you know.
What’s the limit of this argument? Ban cars? Ban airplanes? Ban water? Ban people because the leading cause of death is birth. There is no limit to hypothetical logic.
It’s Orwellian, stupid, and not anyone’s responsibility. This is the same logic that leads to over regulation and loss if freedom. Doesn’t the world already have enough of that? Why imagine raasons for more?
I know medicine saves tons of lives... but let’s ban needles so the junkies don’t OD! That logic is bad.
It’s like cutting up tires to make sure they get recycled. Proof this will happen? Are you going to recycle them yourself? Going to use them to make artificial turf softer? Well it turns out that is a leading cause of cancer for kids that were goalies that played soccer on turf. Your recycling is killing people too (look it up, I dare you).
Stop trying to save everyone with silly ideas; it doesn’t work and destroys freedom and personal responsibility both of which used to be important to people.

I’m pretty average, I know. You’re pretty average too, and you know.

I've used plenty of good used tires on all my cars. The 928 with the supercharger eats tires like there is no tomorrow and always put donated tires on them to burn then off. No need to over think this. If you don't want anyone to ever use them, then take them to the landfill/garbage dump.

When I worked at a shop we had a full-size dumpster that we tossed tires into for recycling. After that I am not sure what happened, I guess it's up to the hauler to do what they want with them. Used tires aren't big around here but where my wife comes from there is a used tire place every other block.

Of course it's not, no matter how many times you say it is.
Orwellian is when the government oversees and controls everything you do, and coerces the people to join in the surveillance. An individual choosing not to let his tires be resold is a personal decision about personal property.
Just like the Bill of Rights doesn't refer to people-vs-people interaction (it refers to protections against Government overreach only), Orwellian doesn't refer to personal decisions about personal property that you happen to disagree with!
He's free to do whatever he wants to his OWN property in order to make a safer, or cleaner, or better world or whatever. In fact, trying to tell him he's bad for doing so is more Orwellian than his action. Coming down on his personal property rights is just invasive.

It's your conscience, so do with them as you wish. If you leave them at the tire shop, you can be 100% certain that tires in that good of tread life will end up on someone car/truck.
If it were me, I would keep the tires even if I had to pay the $3 "disposal fee", and then give them to someone truly in need of tires that would not have $500-$1000 bucks for new ones, and school them on date codes and to watch for signs of cracking and safe speeds. Would I drive at 175+mph on 10-15yo tires, not on your life, would I cruise at 65 mph on them if they have no signs of cracking, absolutely.
The front tires could be used on more popular models, the rear tires will only fit a limited number of high performance cars so would not be a candidate to give away to the needy crowd, as mentioned the "drift crowd" could dispose of them in short order.
