It still amazes me the bad wrap that these engines get from the IMS bearing, yet the LS7 engine in the Z06 Corvette's were dropping valves from bad guides like crazy, yet that motor is still understood to be a good motor aside from that. I feel the same way about the M96 personally.

IMO it suffers because the GT and Turbo engines with their dry sump and plain IMS bearing are so well made... Although, who cares - drive it - enjoy it

I agree with you 100%, its completely overated but try and tell that to a person who just spent 16-20k on a rebuild. You blow a chevy 350 any back yard mechanic can rebuild it in a weekend for 1500 bucks. Big difference!!!
