Default Maintenance for a 20 yo. 996

This year I made a concerted effort to stay on top of my ‘99 C2 maintenance list. The car only has 64k miles, and I’m the original owner. But it is 20 years old. In addition to fluids, which I’ve done religiously, I’ve done the followings:

brakes and rotors (4)
IMS
RMS
AOS
clutch, bearing and flywheel
coils and plugs
water pump, stat (next week)
oil cooler (small leak)
leaky sensor (cam position?)
window regulators
some front suspension work

I found a great Indy here in FL, and he’ll look it over when it’s in next week. any suggestions what else I should be thinking of replacing? Coolant reservoir?

Default May I ask what Indy shop in FL?

I ask as I’m in central Florida and willing to drive anywhere in Florida for the right shop.

Coolant tank if it's original.
Coolant hoses - Any that look visually bad. I removed several of mine and was surprised to find that despite their age they were in good shape. The ones that were bad were all the ones around the engine (heat) and on the bottom of the engine (road spray).
Anything rubber that you can reach without removing the engine, particularly the SAI system vacuum hoses while you have the left intake out for the AOS.
Consider replacing the starter if it's original, again easy access when the left intake is out.
Alternator or at least the voltage regulator on the back of the alternator

Yes, I use BavAutogruppe in Gainesville. Skylar takes great care of me, I’d give him five stars any day. His shop doesn’t look like a Porsche dealership, but he really knows his German cars and is very reasonable to work with.

Not trying to change thread topic, but try Drivers Choice Motors in Longwood. They are a great Porsche specific shop. Techs are previous Porsche dealer techs. When i purchased my 04 C4S from Porsche of Orlando and made the IMS part of the deal they had them do the repairs. It speaks volumes of them if the Dealer recomends them. Not to mention several others on the forum will give thsm a thumbs up.

Check your motor mounts and trans mount. They tend to go bad with age. Mine were toast at around 70k miles.

Great suggestions on mounts and bushings. That’ll be Round 3, probably early springtime.

The suspension bushings on my 99 were shot. I also had the front wheel bearings replaced. They had a little play in them.

I'd definitely replace the camchain. Mine failed and grenaded the engine in my 2002 Cab at 72,000 miles. Change tensioners too.
