That looks cool, is it cats and mufflers all in one xpipe or double cats for each side?

More details on page 9 of my build thread if you want to see all the pics and info. I hate to post links in others threads but you can search my subscribed threads if you want for Widebody build.

The skinny on it is I read a post from a sound engineer on some forum (don't remember where it was) and basically said short and skinny would get the quickest cycle of rumble and higher pitched sounds for an exhaust. I HAVE NO IDEA IF THATS TRUE!!! but I did it anyway and my exhaust sounds like a race car and I love it. Something comparable is quite expensive. Somewhere in the thread is a link to my youtube channel where you can hear it as well if you would like.

It probably doesn't look as pretty as Fabspeed exhausts which is what I had on there before but I did achieve the sound I wanted. Nothing against Fabspeeds exhaust (great stuff) but I didn't like how low the rumble was so I sold them used for $500. Its all about preference

Here's my custom exhaust. It's pretty loud and has a bit of drone at cruising speeds but....man, does it sound good! If memory serves me correctly, it produced an additional 22whp and 10wtq over the OEM setup.

Man that looks really good, I wish I had your welding talent. Post a link as this is an old thread that obviously died. It would be beneficial to others searching!

I concur, he does amazing work. He has a whole area in his shop just for the specialty exhaust systems. I drool at the craftsmanship.

It wasn't that hard to do and for the money I think it was absolutely worth it.

The build thread https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...wide-body.html

Youtube video/channel has a few vids where you can hear the exhaust. Some sound better than others three videos pertaining to the exhaust.

Yes and yes. I have the set up for the two high flow cats as well for it if I want to swap them on making it two mufflers and two cats. The o2 sensors I took out and yes I have the engine light on. but that was by choice, the cats I have are the same size as the mufflers so it would have been no extra work to use the cats for either my upper or lower pair.

My build was done with the intension of a motor swap so please keep that in mind before some one gives me guff on that lol For me... I love my set up and get lots of rev requests and is music to my ears lol

They sound really good in the video..
I wonder how much a muffler shop would charge to make a similar set but keeping my stock cats? But I have to many things on the "needs" list before I can get to the "wants" list, lol.
I just want to make sure there's no drone in the sweet spot at cruising speed (not that I have much road to cruise very long before I end up in the water.

not sure where your located but I could do it for ya. probably cheaper then a shop.

They sound a little better in person. I don't know how to get a good sound video, someone said I need to mount the mic by the rear bumper but when I get close with my phone the phone cuts out the sound. my wife recorded the video and she said the same thing.. doesn't sound as good in the vid as in person. sounds a little higher pitched in person.

Anyway, thanks.

oh ya my exhaust system weighs 15lbs shaved a lot of weight doing this exhaust

In Hawaii on the little island of Kauai. With only one muffler shop and the owners an absolute *****!
I really appreciate the offer but shipping anything here is a killer. Lets talk later about this, I might take you up on it but need to finish this AOS replacement before anything.
Thanks!

.

I'm very interested in the performance improvements.
My custom system with only mufflers produced an additional 22whp/10wtq...I'm curious to see what this system does with full length headers and no cats.

I'm moving to WA next month so I'll definitely be visiting his shop in the near future.
