CDC 3 Magazine stuck and won't play
No info in the manual, any ideas?

Mine did this recently. Went to eject it and it wouldn't cone out. Makes a bit of noise but nothing more. Won't play. Not that this helps but I put in a new head unit so I never have to mess with it again. Now I just need to remove the changer.

When I was in high school I had an Explorer with a cd magazine in the trunk exactly like these cars. When the magazine got stuck I used to slip a butter knife down each side of it and pull it out like a pair of oversized chopsticks. I think I might have bopped the eject button and then pulled, but I can't remember the exact sequence. *shrug* You can give this a try?

There is a dial on the right side with an arrow on it. Looks like it adjusts or locks the magazine down. Any info on the function of this? The manual has no info.
I should have left the damn thing alone but my wife loves her music, now I have a few of her favorite CD's stuck...I just like listening to my motor most of the time.

I understand it is a magazine holding 3 disks? Most of them have an external "track" on one side that a pin slides in that locks the magazine into the player. The track is kind of "J" shaped where the pin follows the straight part and locks into the "J". I have used a steel ruler to push the pin down the track to release the mag. The butter knife will probably work if it is thin and long enough.

I read on another forum that replacing a fuse helped them with getting the multi cd cassette to eject. It wasn’t visibly blown, but once replaced it allowed the unit to power up.

pics of release mechanism on CDC-3
Replaced the stereo and no longer needed the CD changer; but forgot to remove the CDs first! Since it no longer had power, I could not figure out how to eject the magazine. After removing the mounting bracket, and then removing the changer from the bracket, I disassembled the unit and found the release mechanism is a little pin about 1 inch below the #6. Might be tough to pry this pin away from the magazine without taking off the plastic casing, but if you can the magazine will pop right up (I did have to manually slide one of the CDs back into place in the magazine). Hope the pics help anyone else struggling with a manual eject of the magazine.
This pin has to be pried away from the magazine to release it.
The screwdriver is pointing to the hole where the pin inserts into the magazine to keep it locked in place.
