In CA, you can order personalized plates online (they send you a post card around 6 weeks later when they're ready to be picked up). You can search for available combinations and place your order.

That's the link i used to get mine: "TYPE911" for my '86 Carrera a few yrs ago.
I saw "TYPE996" at the Pomona Swap meet a few months back. So that one's gone.

How 'bout "H20COOL"?
I was also looking for "AIRCOOL" but that was taken.

As soon as mine comes out of storage in the spring its gets its new RISKRWRD plates.

They charge about $200 for cusotm plates up here.

It helps if you attach Stuka dive bomber noise generators to your side view mirrors...
