That engine sounded pretty healthy to me. Get it out and drive it! You need to put at least 10k miles on it before winter.

Yes.
They should both read about the same.

I don't know. I'm not employed with him or his company. Maybe you should send him an email asking him to post a video? It says on the YouTube site to contact Jud with questions. Good luck!

Half way on the electronic dash indicator for oil level.

I had a similiar tic about a year ago, worried me to death. It was one of the cats! Don't know if they wear out by miles or age 05 4s (I'm over 100k). Put on high flo cats, wow what a difference ( sound especially)

I would like to know how you come to this conclusion.

It's in the owners manual.

Half way up stick or on e-guage is a pretty common opinion here and by some of those with much knowledge and experience. Each notch on the e-guage on my 2005 is approx. 6.2/6.4 oz.

It's a pretty common consensus among those within the Porsche world, that there are more risks associated overfilling a Porsche than under if it's it's a "little low" on the electronic indicator. I've personally witnessed someone that killed a M97 motor by mistakenly overfilling it. The gentlemen checked the oil when the car was on uneven payment and then did the stupid thing by adding more oil thus overfilling it. He then went to drive it and as you may suspect, killed the motor. He ended up not servicing it because of the extremely high repair costs.

How long did it take for the motor to let go and what was the damage?

So I checked the owner's manual and wasn't able to find this anywhere. Do you have a page number, or section?

As long as I don't fill it "over" the line, I'm going to keep it there. If I do one of my 400 mile drives out in the hill country and use 1/2 qt of oil, that would put me at the bottom line.

The top line is where I'll keep it.

I'll check. It's possible I read it in the Bentley repair book recently.

Not necessarily. The book does say 1 quart per 1000 miles is nothing to worry about. So if SA is tossing it around during those 400 miles I wouldn't get too worried.
