Default Interpreting label on 996 secondary air pump

I'm replacing the secondary air pump on my 2001 911. In looking for used replacements, I see they have a wide variety of numbers on the label. I'm trying to interpret the numbers so I get a newer part.

This is the one I'm replacing.
I get the part number. What do the three numbers at the bottom mean? And the rest of the numbers? Thanks. Mark

I would not worry so much about the other numbers. The newest part # for SAI pump is 996.605.104.01 for year 00 and up. The other numbers could just be some type of Bosch manufacturing and supply code numbers.

The top one is a Bosch number. The one in the oval is the factory code. Porsche part number is the next one. On the bottom, the 183 means it was manufactured in March of 2001, the 29 means the 29th day of the month and the 2 is some kind assembly line identifier.

Yes MY1999 is different and uses both a different pump, SAI hose, and bracket. I know this b/c on my prior 2003 C2 someone put a a 99 bracket that was modified onto the 00- pump and it did not fit the area at all, crushed against the coolant tank and cracked the corner of the tank, along with nearly kinking the SAI hose to reach over to fit.

So how does 183 mean March 2001? I'm trying to work through any logic here.

You have probably already found that the Bosch pump is ~$250 and in the Porsche box ~1000.
If I remember right the difference is you have to use your existing frame. The pump/frame is mounted using 3(?) rubber isolation mounts.

he is assuming it is a Julian date code, the 83rd day of 2001 = March 23

The table seems to reveal the codes, even in the absence of logic. Thanks for sharing.
