Tire size for AE
Just placed an order with Tire Rack for new rubber all the way around for my completely stock Anniversary Edition which is still tucked away for the winter. Memory tells me I have 235/40ZR18 on front and 295/30ZR18 on the rear.
The rep at Tire Rack is telling me he believes I should be ordering 225/40ZR18 in front and 285/30ZR18 in back.
Can anybody confirm i’m ok going with the larger size tires as not looking to have any fitment issues.
The car is equipped with the factory AE suspension and wheels, no mods.

Interesting........just off phone with Tire Rack again.
They now tell me no issue running the 235’s up front and 295’s in back, go figure!
If anybody run with these sizes please let me know your experience.
Sorry for double posting, here and on AE thread.

My owners manual says 225/40- 18 Front and 285 / 30 - 18 Rear (Page 242). I'm very glad I talked to DAMON at the Tire Rack (no affiliation) as I considered the effects of different widths and aspect ratios on performance, ride quality, speedo/odo accuracy, etc. That guy is more-than-usually informed, sensible, and helpful. I think he's on extension 4346.
My 2002 C2 is 3 weeks on new Michelins, 235/40 and 285/35 18, feels and looks just right to me.

tire rack is right about the stock size which is the same as any narrow 996.2, but what you can fit without rubbing is another story. The rennlist user knfeparty has a 40th which he autocrosses nationally in A-street and I'm guessing he has tried every combo of tire size that will fit on a stock 40th. Might want to reach out to him.

I was searching for if a 235/40 will rub or not, and the advice in the thread is to ask me
a 255/3518 fits fine with a 3mm spacer but I've had issues with height in 245/40s before where they rub the liner and the bottom of the spring perch.
