Default 997 LED rear lights into 996 2004 car

Hi all

am toying with the thought of replacing the rear lights on my 2004 C4S is it possible to fit the 997 style eBay LED lights.

would it cause any problems, do they fit out of the box.

your thoughts please

They don't fit. 997 wide bodies and narrow bodies use the same part/size. 996 C4S and Turbo are wide bodies and are a different size than 996 narrow bodies. .

Default wide body tail lights

Sir, There are aftermarket LEDs for 996, turbos and C4Ss that will fit. Just make sure you dont use narrow body lights.

Just get the Depo 996 LED rear lights they look similar to the 997 design and drop right in.

Your link is for the narrow body 996 - won't work on C4S or Turbo.

Search on eBay - you can find them significantly less costly. Vendor Fishcake321 is a good source and he sells DEPO product. Some other vendors are even less but they are usually brand Spyder.

Thanks. Here's a link. This will just plug in to where the OEM lights go? One of my OEM lens is slightly cracked so this would be a good replacement.

Aaah yes. There are others out there that are similar that fit the C4S and Turbo...one version is made by REVi Motorworks if you search.

I purchased DEPO rear LED taillights. I am extremely happy with the fit and finish. True plug and play with factory / OEM quality. I purchased my set from ebay from this seller:

I think the tail light upgrade is one of the best bang for buck. It really modernized the tail of my car. It is amazing how different it looks, and not as dated.

Here is the video I made of the swap with before and after comparison.

I did the LED upgrade on my 2002 couple months ago. I also blackened out the rear center reflector with black vinyl. Definitely modernized the rear and made it even more sexier.
