Question Name that Leak...

Hi guys, I'm about to do some needed maintenance on my car, Upon inspection I noticed what seems to be oil/grease at the drivers front suspension.... seems to be originating around or above the lower suspension link/dog bone just behind the brake scoop. Any ideas? Is it grease from the suspension link boot?
Does it warrant replacement?
Any input is much appreciated.

As a side note, the LN IMS solution was done recently and AOS, I'm flushing the brakes, coolant and installing a new water pump and possibly a new low temp thermostat.

Thanks
Shalil

You need to touch it and smell it

These are approximate:

Coolant: pink colour and sweet smelling

Power steering fluid: Pentosin CHF 11S - smells bad - green

Brake fluid - clear, corrosive - smells like... brake fluid?

Agree with people that you should feel and smell it. Given the location, I suspect it is grease from the ball joint boot. Then again it could be something else, theres a lot of discoloration on the control arm.

Grease will have a distinctive feel and odor from other fluids. The concern I have about leaking boots is that eventually contaminants get in and start to wear the metal ball joint, creating slop over time. I wouldn't panic about it, but it is worth addressing when you can.

Bingo! This is my guess as well - check the seal on the steering pump that's closest to that side...
