Brand NEW $400,000 Ferrari 812 Superfast parked on the street. Notice the rear diffuser?? Does it seem a little misaligned to you??? Still think I’m full of BS?

Rear diffuser definitely out of alignment. I wouldn't touch a Ferrari if it was free.

I can't stop looking at that car but it's not because of the janky diffuser. Oh là là.

Default My 2cents

Old "Nationalistic adages", like all British cars leak oil, haven't applied for sometime. Today, the automobile industry is a "world" industry...Chinese builders hire German engineers, Italian stylists, etc. Heck, my last Jaguar, a 2004, was the most reliable car I had ever owned, and didn't leak a drop of oil ! Who wudda thought.

Tesla has worse build quality than that, and they sell every car they make.

I asked a salesperson at a Tesla store how they could sell cars with doors that were 1/4 inch out of alignment when no other $100,000.00 car had those problems. I was told that nobody bought them for the build quality.

Nobody buys an Italian car because they expect it to last 20 years and 500,000 miles.

They don't fall apart after 20 years. My 360 doesn't have 500,000 miles (subtract one zero), but it is nearly 20 years old and looks almost as good a new and definitely still runs as good a new.

I didn't say they fall apart. I said people don't buy them because they last for 20 years. They buy them for other reasons. Did you buy your 360 because of its reputation for longevity and low maintenance costs?

Ah......I see your distinction. I misinterpreted your statement.
Cheers.

Probably why SpaceX Musk is using his Tesla as the payload for the Falcon 9 Heavy rocket test on Tuesday. He said in all likelihood the thing will explode on the pad, or blow up before achieving orbit.

I just want to know who drove the Ferrari up on the curb and knocked the diffuser out of alignment? I highly doubt it left the factory like that...😉

Ha, funny bunch here. OP is absolutely right and I don't doubt for one minute that the fuel door was like that from the factory. As I alluded earlier in this thread, Ferrari doesn't get you w/ it's engineering efficiency or perfect logic approach to car building like the Krauts, it's the intoxicating smells, sounds and performance that hooks ya. Never owned one, but i have access to a couple and they are a thing.

It's funny how a simple pic of the fuel door on your Cali says sooo much about the modus operandi of German vs Italian culture.

And i neglected to send congrats on the acquisition, she's beautiful! I take it you're in between butlers and that's why your's wasn't around to deal w/ the seller's butler?

As an aside, I'd be willing to bet the rear diffuser on that Superfast was the byproduct of a careless driver.
