TuneRS also very good to deal with, speak to Mike or Taylor. 954-345-7877 Located in Coral Springs
I recently had a good experience with F1 Imports in Naples, but unless the car is outside Ft Lauderdale it’s probably way too far away. I also bought an ‘03 C4s a few months ago (not in Naples), happy to answer any questions.
Ok ill bite how do you know? They did my RWD conversion and were nothing but professional.
Only went there once, never again. And it wasn't just a misunderstanding on price or something took too long sort of deal. $1,800 bill, of which $1,500 was refunded after much Drama (with a capital D.) And I could have got the other $300 refunded, but got sick of the whole situation.
Look, I'm not gonna detail it out here, but my comment stands.
If you used them and are happy, great, want to use them in the future, great.
Happy to enlighten anyone via PM if they've got a dog in this hunt.
If you're going to call them out on a public forum you should at least say why.
"Calling them out", your words, not mine. People ask for recommendations all the time and members reply and they don't say why in detail. They simply say, "Hey, try Toni at XYZ Auto. Always great experience. Used many times." And then if anyone wants more details they ask.
So let me rephrase "avoid at all costs."
"Hey don't try MCK Engineering. Bad experience. First time I used them."
And if anyone (anyone, meaning those who may actually consider using them or who have used them) wants the details I offered to explain albeit via PM.
We do have the right to not recommend as well as recommend without specifying each and every sorted detail.
But you chose to use the phrase "theft with a smile." Pretty strong words and accusations. That's a tiny bit different than "I had a bad experience and don't recommend them." Just sayin

“bad experience” can range from, their coffee was terrible, to, they shot and killed my entire family.
Yes I choose that phrase to give a clue as too what may have transpired after 2 people asked for more info.
to recap:
rluvsporsche says, “Can someone recommend a shop in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area that does a thorough PPI?”
Hardback responds, MJSpeed is a member here and his shop, MKC Engineering, is in Davie 305-206-2060.
Is Hardback required to say why he recommends them? No. So why am I required to explain why I do not recommend them? If someone asks why he recommends them, can he explain? yes.
Oh but wait, I did offered to explain, hence the, ask me how I know?” And then went on to offer details via PM for those who asked.
So what’s the issue here?
Hey Agent Jester, “theft with a smile” is a polite way of indicating what was involved, sort of like I “went to the bathroom” is a polite way of indicating you took a s@#t.
I had mine done by Pedro of TechnoLab (a/k/a Pedro's Garage) in Weston. He does a thorough PPI, including replacing the oil filter in order to see if the old filter has any metallic debris. Pedro's number is (954) 385-0330.
