I call BS on a 500 hp m96 motor. Without forced induction, you would need to spin it to 9000 rpm.
i did email jake again and he returned my email right away. I dont know about the 500hp thing but i have talked to a few companies about jake over the last few months and he is respected by quite a few out there.

Seems like a pretty good guy to me.

Who said it was limited to 9,000 RPM? You’ll learn more about it when the time comes. The displacement will also surprise many. That’s not because it’s Big, either. This was done to push a certain envelope, and I don’t plan to sell anything like this.

As for missing a phone chat, that’s entirely possible,(but rare) as my time is not spent in the office. I’m in my lab or the dyno cell, and we don’t have any clocks around here.(it doesn’t matter what time it is when we are working)

If I missed a call I would have typically followed up with an email. When was this call missed?

Missed call was October 10, I’ve went a different direction since that time so no need to call now.

Post up a dyno of this 9000+ rpm m96 motor.

No need to post videos, that engine is something I built for myself, for the hell of it. In case you haven’t noticed we don’t resort to videos and all this modern marketing BS. I really don’t care what sells, and what doesn’t. I never have, and that’s been the key to our success.

Ha! Just calling it like I see it.

There is probably a reason he never posts dyno graphs, people will realize they are spending $25k to make a measly 300 hp. Someone needs to develop a real plug and play LS swap kit.

Yep, I have a customer that’s got one for sale... Just needs the engine reassembled after it broke a timing chain, and bent a few rods.. He ran out of money.. Even has a brand new lapis Blue paint job!

I've seen a few LS engines with the same. All cars are POS's.

and that bent rod was probably after a lot of mods, have a few friends with 500+AWHP 996 Turbo's and they are reliable as they get.

1.3 bar for 2 weeks... Trust me, those guys have bent rods too, they just don’t know it. I build more of the TT engines than I’d like to say, but I’m done with them now.

Yeah, the guys that do the LS swaps tend to have the same mindset. They eat up lots of our time for no reason.

I doubt it. Some of these cars have been tracking for over 3 years now without any major issues. Bent rods would have showed itself by now IMO. havent pushed any of them off the track.

Nope, see how that rod is bent two ways? This keeps the issue symptomless for a long time. 100% of the TT engines I have torn down have had at least one bent rod, and its typically #1, or #6.

The TT engine is probably the best thing they've built watercooled, though. The accountants impacted it much less, but they should have kept the rods shorter, and not skimped on them. Rods and timing chains are the only real issues with them internally.

Anyway, back to being on topic, and I'm disappearing again. I have a 1944 Kubelwagen to go pick up at the port for my collection. Its a great day!

Yes, no doubt the engines that come to you broken will have bent rods.

not all porsche turbos out there are running with bent rods though.

I've bent a rod in my focus race car, and in one of my subies. They don't run like it should and it's quite obvious there's an issue.

these guys are winning races. That doesn't happen here with broken motors.
