I pour as much water as possible into the decklid to keep my engine cool and prevent any overheating. Typically 3 buckets of ice water does it

While the specific heat of the two liquids is comparable, Porsche-approved coolant is actually the best approach. Make sure to coat the thick copper wires on the passenger side of the engine compartment as they can go bad with age. A good cleaning every now & then improves conductivity in the engine compartment.

Sheesh...
You guys are vastly overcomplicating this. He simply needs to let out some air from the up-slope tires to level it.

I'm not even sure if this is a genuine question or a joke.

Just put 19" wheels on the left and 15" on the right and you're good to go!

my beloved 996 brethren........y'all disappoint me with all these worthless/aimless banter, clouding the MOST IMPORTANT concern of all. WHAT OIL WEIGHT SHOULD BE USED?

after this existential question is put to rest, then and only then will other LESSER concerns be discussed.....like WHERE DO I PUT MY PHONE?

My garage had a slope so I set up parking shims under the tires. I experimented with different thicknesses and used a level on the oil sump plate until I had it 100% level side to side and front / back. I did the same thing for my Boxster as well, and now when I start them up they sound noticeably smoother.

Ok so what the collective is saying is that you might get some smoke at start from oil seeping past the low side piston rings. But you really should not have a problem.

Doctors tell me that sleeping upside down could be fatal and hard on the body's natural flow of fluids. This might apply to the 996 when parked on a slop. Stupid gravity gets us every time!

Andre,

Just checking in on the health of your 996. We've been concerned about your parking conundrum.
