What's a really good sports car buy in the $100,000 to $150,000 range??

In the end, I made an offer for a Cali from an authorized dealer. We were only $1,500 apart on the very first round of negotiations, so I was sure they would either accept my offer or at least throw in free floor mats or whatever. With the new Portofino, I figured these things weren't exactly flying off the showroom.
But that was yesterday and I'm still anxiously awaiting their decision. Maybe they passed and in that case I will go back to shopping. I will always have my beloved 996 and I'm not in a hurry. Although this long weekend would have been ideal to go pick it up.

"Depends, like an F car that isn't insanely expensive on maintenance is a 360 Modena (for and older car). I'd actually put it in the same field as a 996, if not just marginally more."
He specifically mentioned an FF...

+1 - Best bang for your buck there is a new Corvette Z06. Personally I'd stay away from the FF only because it's not a mainline Ferrari. Get a used 458 or like you said the 488. The FF is the Ferrari equivalent of a Boxster... Not matter how much you slice it at the end of the day it's "not a 911".

Yeah, it's damn near impossible to wear out the engine too!

Cali, second gen, so-called Cali 30. Naturally aspirated. Coupe to convertible in 13 seconds. Different enough from 911 that you'll appreciate driving the other even more.

The only condition I have is that it can't be another 911 of any kind. I love my '01 996 and I will never get rid of it and it is all the 911 I will ever need.
Right now I am thinking about a used Ferrari FF or a used Cali 30. My only problem with the used Cali 30 is that a $30,000 brand new Mustang GT has about the same horsepower. So I am leaning towards a used FF. But my problem with a used FF (that's in the $150,000 range) is that if the front transmission goes, I am out like crazy money. Then there's a used F430 spider, but that has the single clutch paddle shifters which is like dinosaur technology now. So I am back to square one.
Cash on hand. Ready to pull the trigger, just don't know what to get. I am leaning towards a used FF if I can get a CPO warranty on it without going way over my budget. I can probably stretch and get a used 488GTB, 458 Spider or F12, but I will probably have to eat lots and lots of ramen noodles for the next 2+ years if I do. LOL

GT4 either loaded or add 3.8 X51 w/BGB
But, if I had the cash handy, one of these would be on its way across the pond asap:

R8 or BMW I8. Deals to be had on the I8 and a superb drivers car. Took one around LRP and was very impressed with the quickness and most of all with how light and neutral it felt.

Actually, in addition the FF, he also mentioned the 430.
