Default What's a really good sports car buy in the $100,000 to $150,000 range??

The only condition I have is that it can't be another 911 of any kind. I love my '01 996 and I will never get rid of it and it is all the 911 I will ever need.

Right now I am thinking about a used Ferrari FF or a used Cali 30. My only problem with the used Cali 30 is that a $30,000 brand new Mustang GT has about the same horsepower. So I am leaning towards a used FF. But my problem with a used FF (that's in the $150,000 range) is that if the front transmission goes, I am out like crazy money. Then there's a used F430 spider, but that has the single clutch paddle shifters which is like dinosaur technology now. So I am back to square one.

Cash on hand. Ready to pull the trigger, just don't know what to get. I am leaning towards a used FF if I can get a CPO warranty on it without going way over my budget. I can probably stretch and get a used 488GTB, 458 Spider or F12, but I will probably have to eat lots and lots of ramen noodles for the next 2+ years if I do. LOL

+1 - Best bang for your buck there is a new Corvette Z06. Personally I'd stay away from the FF only because it's not a mainline Ferrari. Get a used 458 or like you said the 488. The FF is the Ferrari equivalent of a Boxster... Not matter how much you slice it at the end of the day it's "not a 911".

Bang for the buck, yes, but who really wants a vette? I would lean toward an R8. Ferraris are still too hostile, and service is still ridiculous.

Probably about 50,000 more Vette buyers per year than 911 buyers.

Good R8 discussion here:

Ferrari is topping on a monthly scale, yo. Nice sell area here for RACE imo.

Buy a Caterham 7 Superlight. One of the best drivers cars ever made period...

Its the car I'd buy if I had your kind of coin free for fun, nothing else like them

Nah... RACE is good for a somewhat longer run. Most reliable Ferrari investment to date! But yeah, should have bought more a while back.
