Hi
I have purchased a 996 Sport Seat with the hard back and wanted to know what the best way would be to refurbish the back to new. ?

Remove the backs and send them to Bumperplugs to have them painted. Painted backs in the exterior color was a factory option.

To borrow a page from Cuda's playbook, have you tried Flitz polish?

Hi Sir996, I have the same issue so curious to the solution you find. the 3 solutions I have found is as follows, 1) paint- 2) plastic dip- 3) vinyl wrap. Each have pro's and cons. the biggest con and why I am leaning to paint, is I think they will mark fairly easy with any use of the backseats/storage and painting is likely the most robust. With Vinyl wrap a carbon look could be obtained if that's your thing.

Any paint shop could do a nice job on those. If they are soft touch plastic there are YouTube videos on how to remove the soft touch coating from the plastic prior to paint.

It's hard to get plastic like that back to looking good, the soft touch is very un-forgiving.

Who the hell is sitting in your back seats and doing all that sh*t?

Wouldn't have thought of that, but it might work. The stuff does work miracles. They should hire me as a shill.

Also very interesting in painting mine. Apparently the soft touch paint can be reapplied???

Thanks Matt

Why not wrap it in vinyl in a color that closely matches your paint? Would look perfect and maintain the originality if anyone ever wanted to remove it. For a pro that is an easy job.
