Yep, almost exact same experience as OP, but I didn't get hit to have it happen. My son took pity and surprised me with a full set for Father's Day about 3 years ago. Although the crests were a bit bigger, the quality was pretty good. Told me he spent $25 on eBay. After 3 years the gold has faded on a couple to silver, but they don't look bad.

Good to know, although I'm hoping to not have to buy any for a while. I paid $230 for a full set on ebay, they are OE. I've already received them and naturally, there's now a set on ebay for $190...

No trademark infringement if they swap letters and most people would never notice. I'd still go w/ OEM centers personally.

A long, long time ago, I posted a solution for CFOS (crest falling off syndrome) -- difficult to find because it was 12 years ago, but the thread is still there (solution starts on post #30) -> https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...-question.html

That's a nice "how-to". I'll give that a try and see how it looks on my "spare".

What is a good glue...or epoxy to use for this repair? I have issues on my car as well...lost the first one...just fell off while car was in storage over last winter!

Cleanup any residual adhesive, I have used 3M Emblem & Trim adhesive and it has held for years.

I've used that 3M Emblem and Trim glue a lot and it's great stuff.

Another good trick with the crests to prevent them from fading or chipping is to spray them with Krylon Crystal Clear (
Amazon Amazon
) acrylic. It's used for artwork and goes on super-thin so it doesn't look painted at all. You can't really tell that it's been coated. I did it for only the crests, not the silver surround -- so they can be coated when the crest is off (if you are gluing them on) or you can tape off the silver part. A few days after it dries, I put 303 over the crest to help block UV.
