Wow. Thanks for the compliment! I have always loved Arena Red. But I confess to being a sucker for almost all Porsches.

There is Arena Red TT for $85k with 70k on the odometer that has been sitting on the market for months (clean CF, clean title)... If it was silver or black, it would have been gone immediately. Also, according to the German market (not that we care, of course ), the Speed Yellow and Arena Red 993s are least sought after.
Can you show us your hard data that you are drawing this conclusion from? How many data samples do you have? Have you factored in the amount of cars in each color in how many cars you 'see' for sale? How about factoring in mileage, that also seems to drive how fast cars move. How about private sales, many cars exchange hands without every being advertised? Do you have a line on ALL the 993TT's that have sold in the German market in the last two years specifically sorted by color, and their corresponding sell price?

It sounds to me like one of those "statements" that get thrown out there in such a way as to sound like a fact, but in reality, its just an opinion.

If a car has been sitting that long, there is likely some issue that is not stated in the ad that potential buyers catch, and even then, one data sample is not statistically significant.

Sorry, but the engineer in me likes to see hard data, otherwise its just guessing.

Cheers,

Mike

Hell, I think it's such a beautiful color, if Steve will give me his RUF bumper covers, I'd just bolt em on :-)

Fo'get 'bout it.. It's hard to have a constructive discussion w/ bunch of 993 addicts. YES gents, I LOVE these cars just like you do! But you see the difference is that you do not look at the market. I do. Why? Because I buy and sell these things. You love Arena Red? Great! Good for you! I am not taking that away from you. But trust me, it is not the most popular color out there. How do I know?? Because I have to make living doing what I do. And that takes more than spilling my emotions on RL .. Cheers and love to all!

Your threads in the past few months clearly show that you don't know the market despite being a car salesman trying trade Porsches. It is just so comical that you are telling people who have owned these cars longer than your experience with them what to think. Keep it up and it will only get more entertaining.

First, Let's confirm that you are a flipper together with your statement above and hold two accounts on this site as per another member.

Now, let's demonstrate your knowledge, or lack of, on the subject when you rely on the OT crowd to educate you. That is just so wrong on so many levels.. Where to begin on that one..

Maybe I am wrong. Maybe your expertise is on car colors instead of all around car knowledge. I will stand corrected.

I guess I was shopping for an arena red turbo at the WRONG time. During my 5 month search, there were a total of 4 AR turbos for sale nation wide at various times, 2 through conventional Autotrader/Ebay and 2 discovered after exhaustive online searches on some very very low traffic sites. The two listed on the higher traffic sites were long gone before I could even schedule a look. One of the others sounded promising but the owner was not interested in letting me take a look because he had it in long term storage and thought that the turbos needed replacement. The last one was the one I eventually ended up buying. It was listed on CarGurus.com (anyone ever heard of that site?) and the pictures/description could not have been less flattering. I took a chance since it was pretty much the only one left at anywhere close to my price range and the rest is history for me. I absolutely love my AR/Cashmere oddity and it won't be leaving my possession except through my death.
