These dealers just help the values stay high for sure, someone will pay $90ish, but most likely not RL member or a patient buyer, I buy all my cars Private Party anyway, no Tax in AZ unless I buy from a Dealer, which I doubt I'd ever do.

Market conditions dictate pricing

Not those RL members who are unwilling to pay

I've had many of these cars to know, 18k 993tt, right now, NOT $93k. Never said RL listers had anything to Do with market either, Just saying most are SMART enough not to pay full retail. My Opinion.

I actually like the car and I'm thinking of going to see it. I'm been looking for a 993tt for some time now. Any thoughts on the dealer? I called and asked if they would allow a PPI inspection at the nearest Porsche dealership. They said the Porsche mechanic would come to them. New to Rennlist. Any help would be appreciated.

I would get an independent to inspect before the dealer - most of the mechanics at the dealerships did not have hair when these cars were made..

Make sure you get a full compression/leakdown, and even if you can an inspection of the exhaust ports to confirm the ceramic liners are in place (optional though - it means a lot of risk because you need to take the heat exchangers off). The compression/leakdown/compression is at least 4 hours of work.

These cars are quite solid though, but for that kind of money, you want peace of mind. If they refuse, then walk.

Good luck!

Cheers,

Mike

I have bought 4 cars from MGMSL, and they have always been perfect. MGMSL has a rep for having great cars, but high prices.

The local Porsche dealer is about 10 min away, and I would not be surprised if they did not have a relationship with some of the mechanic's.

If I were buying I would get a PPI at Steinel's, a Porsche only specialty garage.

Wow...not good. Do you know that for sure? For that price I thought the car would be in near perfect condition. That changes things.

I know very few things for sure, but I do know this:

1. the previous owner disclosed a front end accident to me

2. I spoke with the dude who owned the body shop that completed the repairs.

3. I obtained a copy of the repair bill.

4. I passed on the car for no reason other than the accident, not the repair. Who knows, the car may be perfect. I never saw the car nor had it inspected.

Out of curiosity does the repair/crash not show up on the carfax?

Seems like there are lots of Turbo's on the market now.

Well, it is spring. :-)

Not sure that there are that many, and how many I guess depends on your criteria. :-)

I think that Car Fax is a good indicator, but definitely not the only source you should rely on .. seen a few cases of accident damage not being on it.

Cheers,

Mike

I was wondering in the case of this particular car with the funky interior - was the damage/repair not listed on the car fax?

I had a 'front end encounter' with a tree and my old e36 M3 and the alignment would never line up properly after that nor did the tires wear evenly/equally as they should have. It did seem to drive nicely however. Great steering feel on those cars.

I must have seen 6 993 Turbo's on cars.com last night although none with the elusive hardback seat, rear wiper delete and sunroof delete ;-) Let alone any one of those items.
