It is absolutely a topcoat and clearcoat. Anyone not referencing the 2002 Porsche 'Paint Manual - All Types' is not applying the correct finish.

Its paint now, it wasnt when they left the factory in 97

That's interesting! And Carl seems like has anice info. I work with Glasurit, but I wouldlove to get the detailed info and see if I can paint a rim (random one) just to see if I cant "match" the finish.
