^^^ Well, here's my original motivation for asking about this. I got interested this morning again because one came up on eBay in Denver at the Porsche Dealer. I thought it might be the Speed Yellow one I saw for sale at European Collectibles a couple of years ago, but I think that car had more miles. I had a friend email and ask my opinion on value but he's going to pass. Might be a good find for somebody here ...

That seems like a nice car. Wiper delete and no cell phone thingy are also a positive but to a lessor extent than a sun roof delete. It's a tasty car if you are comfortable with yellow. If you live in a ghetto-esque neighborhood lower key colors are best. If I'm not mistaken that price seems really good if there is nothing wrong with it.

Its got rear wipers or else a bottom storage cubby would exist.

I would like to think anyone who is considering a 993TT over a 997.1TT today realizes the significance of a sunroof delete option therefore I am betting on more money.

JPP that is the same Speed Yellow car I looked at a few years back ... I was wrong on the model year but I compared the VIN the listing has with VIN I have in emails from the owner at the time....

I would specifically ask for the option code sticker and its contents

I have maintenance records on it from the owner who had it at the time I looked that cover the period 5/2/98 to 5/12/09 and the mileage went from 7,219 to 28,082 over that period.

Work was done by SunSet in Beaverton OR.

So .. we're looking for 652, right? Is that it 4th over from the left? It's too blurry to read ...

I think the option sticker reads 454, 680, 688, 708, 939, 982 which are:

Code Option Description
454 Automatic speed control
680 Digital Sound
688 Radio cd CDR210
939 Soft leather rear
982 Supple Leather Seats/Trim

and as I sit and type this I feel like an idiot.... if I was ordering the car and I wanted a sunroof that would be option code 650 because the sunroof was an option but if I didn't want a sunroof which option would I select???? hmmmm if to get a sunroof that is option 650 .... let me go look at my car's sticker

Default Option code sticker from my car

My option code sticker

Code Option Description
09991 manufacture from the exclusive-programme
139 Seat Heating - Left
340 Seat heating - Right
373 Left Sport Seat w/ Power Height Adjuster
374 Right Sport Seat w/ Power Height Adjuster
454 Automatic speed control
520 Controle d'habitacle (Alarm)
688 Radio cd CDR210
XE3 993: Dimming Rear-View Mirror

My point being there is no option code for sunroof delete because to have a sunroof you have to option the car that way ... am I missing something here?

As far as factory sunroof delete, some numbers from the new Turbo book (worldwide numbers, not just US) - counts include all variants and GT models.

1996 - Total worldwide 993 Turbos (inc X50 package, GT2, GTR2 ) = 3931 units
1996 - Total worldwide 993 Turbo with sunroof = 3163
1996 - Total worldwide 993 Turbos with sportseats = 1126

Percentage of Turbos in 1996 with Sunroofs = 80%
Percentage of Turbos in 1996 with Sport Seats = 29%

1997 - Total worldwide 993 Turbos (inc X50 package, S, GT2) = 2052 units
1997 - Total worldwide 993 Turbo with sunroof = 1796
1997 - Total worldwide 993 Turbos with sportseats = 574

Percentage of Turbos in 1997 with Sunroofs = 88%
Percentage of Turbos in 1997 with Sport Seats = 28%

Cheers,

Mike

His car unforunately was crashed by the new owner, there was a thread on it also awhile back, a shame.
