Default ROTtec seats

Question re these seats.
Does anyone here have them in their cars?If so, what are your impressions?

I am looking at their sGT3 seats in Carbon fibre to replace the stock front seats in my car. They have a 993 kit to make the rails fit as well.
Canadian company and not that far away from me, so looks tempting.
Looked on the 6speedonline forums and some mixed opinions there re these...

Some people raise a stink about the non FIA status of the seats. But if they are legit for US federal motorway and Canada motorways which you should find out, then go ahead. But don't except to pass a real race tech inspection.

Rotec carbon seats seem nice.

If you want the whole shebang go check out status racing seats. They are veeeeeeeerrrry nice looking. Also are FIA approved. On thinking of the carbon Spa seat they have. Also they carry one similar to the GT3 seat called the ring.

That is the bit I am not sure of..re DOT status.
I am not tracking my car so I do not require that qualification(FIA)
Thanks for the feedback(will check out the status site though!)

Sure thing, they wont go in right away. I need to ship my car to CA where my motor will get installed and then it gets shipped back to me here in TX. I took out the current passenger seat out aswell to make room for my gearbox, tpc turbo kit, extra turbo, intercooler and a boxes of parts.

on the web site these seats look really nice. based on others experiences with this company (from 6speed) I would not take a chance ordering from them. It appears to be low cost chinese made seats. Why take chances with a company that has such poor feedback? Deal with reputable sellers only. If after reading all the negative experiences and you order from them and have problems you only have yourself to blame.

Talk to the guys at FD Motorsports. They set up a group buy on ROTtec seats for the 993 guys and I think Darin has the seats in his car.

Thanks for all the advice.
I decided for seat modification instead and will get these guys to do it for me http://www.heritagetrim.com/models993.htm
Looks like a neat conversion(there were some very early model 993`s in Europe which had the Soft back Sport Seat option a.k.a 964 type)

Zowie. Thanks for the link. This is an interesting option (not for me... I have the Ruf Seats, with bolsters like a clam shell). Can you give us an idea of the price of the conversion?

Conversion cost C$2500 and includes German imported leather, exactly like OE and rebuilding the seats with existing frame and also OE bolster frame addition.

I am quite excited re this option as the pictures I have seen (European 993 with this option) looks simply gorgeous
