There's also a cigarette lighter plug that you can connect a 9v battery to when you disconnect the main battery so that it keeps the system juiced up and you don't need to reset the radio code etc.

9v battery????? And if I just disconnect the main battery (12v) and don't use the cigarette lighter with a 9v will I just lose the radio code? Cause that's not a big deal, cause I have the code and would simply punch it in.

The radio code is a minor inconvenience. A possibly larger issue are the ECU "Readiness" codes that will get reset if they lose all voltage. Getting them set again can take a while... so if you live in an area that has smog checks, and you have one coming up, this can be a near disaster.

thanks TT i think the one you posted at CTC took the place of CTEK. I get the CTEK name to come up in any CTC searches anymore. Same idea re the one you posted just a different name brand.
