Default New Greddy Profec Install

I am going to be posting a thread on this to show the results of the new Greddy Profec that just came out.

Custom Machining the gauge pod myself.

So far we have gotten the raws in. They are listed as follows:

1 - 6" x 6" x .250" thick #3k twill solid Carbon Fiber sheet

1 - New Replacement Factory Porsche Drivers side Air conditioning vent (Complete with housing and Slats)

1 - New 2012 Model Greddy Profec Electronic Boost Controller

Today we will draw the housing of the factory AC vent in Solidworks.

Most likely we will remachine the unit out of 6061 aluminum and fit it in place of the factory piece. Incorporated in the housing will be a Sandwich guide to hold the CF sheet in between which will also allow air to still pass through. Hopefully we will even retain the valve for air flow control. This will be used in Conjunction with the Tach having been machined out and the OBD computer replaced with a PLX OBD display to monitor and have real time scanning of codes on the dash viewable at all times. Also toggle is same as the factory. with the lever on the column. We will have Air/fuel, EGR, and Boost monitoring in Graphical, Numerical, or Analog if you so choose.

Ill keep you guys posted and it shouldn't be more than a couple weeks beginning to finish.

There has been alot of EBC talk lately so I figured everyone might enjoy this.

Motor is a brand new 3.6 all polydyne coated, Pauter Rods (EDM forced oiling design), Twin Plug Heads, Dual Crane Hi-6 ignitions, Bosch "orange" caps GT2 Evo Cams, ARP Studs throughout, Protomotive Turbos, ECU, etc etc.

Should be pretty quick little piece of machinery.

sweet...I am anxious to see the final result as well. I have my Profec in the ashtray...fits perfectly and hides out of the way when the car is parked.

I am about to load some pics. We are going to try and keep it pretty aesthetically simple. Save for the carbon. Today I got a good look at how the vent works and will definitely be able to keep the main flow valve in it functional.

CAD variations are just about complete. I think we will wait to show you guys. First one will be done completely in 6061-T6 and polished then clear anodized. Once we verify the fitment and have proofed the NC code we will cut the Carbon Fiber one.

Warning: We are going to have slots and the 911 Turbo logo just like the cars on these that will be the passage for air to travel through. So I hope you guys like it. And of course if you guys like just the slots. then that could be done. If this all works we may look at production for them.

Bare with me, We don't want to upset so details will be released as its proven out. Underpromise, Overdeliver.

Default here are today's critiques

Got some more modeling done. THis will be the carbon one so far. Maybe a bit more tweeking where the centerline should be at. If anyone is interested in these we may well go into production with an OEM AC vent complete and all. Just send it to the end user or install shop and wire the remaining harness for the Boost controller, Mount the solenoids... Voila.
