You must be getting lazy in your old age. You are an apostle of DIY!
The accumulator is pretty easy... less than an hour. The slave? IDK. But the part itself is pretty pricey.
What are your symptoms, so the rest of us can know.
Steve - not my car. If you recall, I am selling the black 993TT for a friend. The PPI came back saying it needed this repair. Otherwise the car is great. The shop wants about $2100 for the repair and I just wanted to know if that was in line?
Whew... I'm glad that you aren't losing your DIY attitude!
I would be guessing about $700-$800 for the slave, and $100 for the accumulator. If we "assume" about 4 hours total labor @ $125/hr then $1300-$1400 sounds about right. Ronnie got a good deal, I think. But he's Canadian, and you know what they say. No? Neither do I.
They are charging $1093 for the slave and $207 for the accumulator + 4.5 hours of labor. The guy who owned the car just deducted it from the asking price.
Slave $617.30, accumulator $111.06 and clutch hose $57.00 all purchased from USA Porsche dealer because these parts are double (no exaggeration!) up here. $400 is pretty much the standard independant labour deal up here according to several shops and turbo brothers I canvassed prior to having the work done. Stealers wanted $600.
