amazing car...RUF Turbo R

Three Wheelin'
If RUF did the motor then RUF considers the car to be a RUF. That's what the folks in Pfaffenhausen told me when I was looking to do mine, so that's a bit more than i-gossip. You, on the other hand can define "real" any way you want to. I suppose.

Well, keep in mind, I think the retail Ruf R engine conversion was about $40,000. So, I think the "asking price" for this example, with only 35,000 miles, is pretty fair:
http://inventory.racperformance.com/...ition_id=10426
And for your "real thing" comment, be ready to pay for a true RUF VIN car. Probably close to $200K in the real World.

In terms of a RUF CTR2, you're really into an entirely different bracket in terms of price and performance. Easily more than double the cost of the example listed at RAC.

thanks...
thanks PM'd
The silver one at RUF Dallas is nice but by the time I added RUF wheels, front and rear RUF Facia/bumpers, paint work, etc I would be adding another $$$$K++ to this price + time and energy to do this work, and not a huge fan of light grey interior. Silver is nice but prefer white...It will be hard to find the color I like but patient.... Hoping to find a turbo R well equipped. To the one whom posted the silver conversion car, thanks....
Not looking for a ctr2 but looking for a turbo R conversion like car but with more RUF work/parts then just the engine work if possible...

Have fun with your search. The hunt is sometimes more fun than the kill. It took me 21 months to find my car back in 2009.

Race Car
When I purchased my turbo r, it was equipped like the one for sale by RAC, except it didn't even have the RUF steering wheel nor pedals. To your point, it cost me a bit to "correct" that. I added the steering wheel, floor mats, wheels, proper badges, key , shifter, and more. 4 years ago when RAC was still Ruf Dallas, I purchased all of those bits at reasonable prices (ie, they gave me great deals).
I opted against the RUF bumpers despite having the opportunity to buy them over the years. I really prefer the current stock turbo s aero kit. The car came that way from the factory.

Some truly awesome cars on this forum. Pretty cool how everyone has slightly different tastes which contributes to the diversity of our cars. It's all about personalization and finding the perfect car for each of us.
I've really enjoyed my RUF the last 3-4 years. Only put about 6K miles since the conversion so not enjoying her enough, but she's been a blast to own. Not a single issue since she arrived from RUF and the car seems to get stronger by the mile. The thing I really appreciate is that even after all these years, this 15 year old car still turns heads and illicits genuine interest from many who see it. From other drivers on the road to guys at gas stations to kids on bikes. It's not just the porsche/RUF faithful and die hard enthusiasts that get enjoyment from seeing this body style.
Something truly special about the 993...

Your Car
Kevin your car over at 6speed has always been a build I enjoyed reading about... such an amazing car and everything you have done has been top notch.
I modded my base 997 over the years to the point of complete bastardization; meaning no one has clue what it is, some think TURBO, others think maybe ruf, others think highly optioned 997 etc... only the real Porsche people know its just a modded 997... car has been rock solid over the past 4 years (factory fixed IMS RMS etc) but have always wanted a 993TT.... knowing I can keep nothing stock in life (my name is steve and I am a mod-aholic) from homes, jetski's, watches, SUV's etc the TURBO R offers just want I need/want....A car that is truly unique, not stock, timeless, classic but yet every bit current as it needs to be... I have pondered over F cars and Lambo's etc but dont want to get into modding such cars for multiple reasons... I relize my pics below look no where in the league of the TURBO R...just figured would share where I am coming from...
The RUF Turbo R is the car for me....
(Kevin I think we have the same rennline pedal kit set up.....)

Thanks guys. Keep the pics coming! I don't think I'll ever tire of looking at our cars.
Mickfluff, I remember your car well and the PM's you sent me when you were modding your 997. Looks awesome to me but then again it sounds like we have similar taste! Go for the turbo R package. You won't be disappointed. All the tid bits (body kit, steering wheel, mirrors, brakes, shift ****, ebrake lever, headlight washer delete, wheels, etc) add up and as Steve M. can attest to, it quickly becomes an addiction. But these parts are getting harder and harder to find - at least the genuine RUF stuff. I tend to go through cars quickly and this for me is the only one that has held my attention. Keep us posted!
Cheers,
Kevin
