Default Weird boost issue

Anyone ever seen this?

Took the 993tt out for a first real drive on Saturday and noticed the boost pressure in the OBC remained at 0.0 the entire time, even during full throttle blasts.

Strange, since car felt like it might have been boosting. No turbo warning lights either.

Stealer assured me car was so perfect he was going to keep it for himself and was hesitant to sell it me!

well there is no turbo warning light, so...

Did the car feel right or no?

Trust me, the 8.0:1 compression 3.6 is a total pooch without any boost, so if you really had zero boost, you would have known.

Probably just a disconnected or broken boost sensor.

Do you see an intercooler? Maybe he sold you just a C4S with a "turbo" badge.

Bad boost sensor that drives the OBC? I seem to remember that that sensor is used for nothing but driving the OBC, the engine management system does not use it. If that is the case, you can get a normally running car and show 0, or 0.8, or whatever

My sensor is a bit sticky, so it shows at times 0.2 at idle - I know the system is not doing that, so it must be the sensor.

Cheers,

Mike

yup, my sensor is a bit goofy also. The part is about $150 and it can be a pain to get to, so I haven't bothered replacing it.

Mine reads .2 as well on start-up after it's sat for a week. Understand this is a "stock feature". Goes to 0 within 10 minutes. Reads 0 on start-up if I use daily which is rare.
