Just replaced both turbos, and one side smokes on start-up. I've heard this is "normal" and will go away once the turbo "seats/seals." Are there any tt owners that have had a similar experience like this?

Dave,
While its possible that your turbos just need to "break-in", a little more info would be helpful. How many mies on the car? Why did you replace your turbos? What brand of oil filter is on the car? Do you have any sort of check valves on the turbo oil lines? Did you overfill the oil tank?

If this is literally the first or second start up, there will likely be some residual oil that needs to burn off.
If you've driven the car any meaningful distance this shouldn't happen.
Did you clean your turbo hoses and intercooler while replacing the turbos? If your banged up turbos were really bad, they doused both items in oil, which may now be burning off.
If it doesn't abate shortly, I'd check and make sure the IC is clean.
Also, the usual suspects...do you have a porsche filter (not mahle, but porsche logo)? Did you overfill?

What does "replaced" mean? Rebuilt? From Porsche? Third part?
There are certainly lots of spots that can go wrong and cause smoking. We need more info if you want help in diagnosis.
Did you do the work yourself, or had it done? If you had it done, what do they say?
Cheers,
Mike
