Default Turbo oil lines: A solution to leaking oil from the turbochargers

Finally I managed to bring my project to an end and now the modified turbo oil lines are available for sale here to fellow 993 turbo enthusiasts.http://www.zweisteintrading.eu/993_turbo_oil_lines.htm

Finally the turbos are dry even after prolonged times in the garage and also when the engine oil level is at maximum no oil flows back into the turbines.

Have a nice day

Andreas Langhoff

Technically the modified oil-lines contain a P-trap that will prevent flow back of th oil from the higher oil level in the crankcase to the lower positions turbos.
Here a picture of the solution.

something about this seems wrong to me.

I can't put my finger on the engineering reason for why I think so, but i just have a weird feeling.

I guess if it works then that's all that matters. I'd like to see how much leaking there would be with the drain plug on the turbos open. I've mentioned before that if it's siphoning that's happening, the hight of the intervening loop doesn't matter. I know our engines run pretty smooth but without any support, it looks like it could vibrate. (Sorry to the original poster for being negative.)(and thanx for at least becoming a member)

AFIR the Andial lines were the same principle, correct? a high loop. Andials were in the $500 range as well.

I opted for Kevin's check valves...

Hi to all,

I wanted to share a picture of the turbo oil return lines with the P-traps included. You can see the excellent workmanship . Fittings quality is identical to the Porsche original line.

Recently I visited also the RUF facilities in Pfaffenhausen, and guess what: Ruf does fit their tuned 993 turbo engines with modified oil return lines very similar to the ones I proppose. They say : Don't want trouble there, so we just fit the modified lines.

Using the modified oil return lines it is no longer necessary to keep the oil level low. You can just use the maximum oil level without having problems with oil leaking from the turbos. Remember that a higher oil level helps cooling of your engine also.
