Default Second chance

So, awhile back I bidded 40k on a black on black '96 993tt with 56k miles. The auction ended at 57k, who knows who won, that was months ago.
Yesterday, the seller, dc motors asks me if I still want it at 40k. Now that is well below the market, asked for the ppi results, he balked.
I'm not in the market right now but I could fwd the link, but I would tread carefully.

He sent me 4 emails today begging to do the deal at 40, the car did have a ppi done, I assume there is something not so warm and fuzzy in there.
Aside from the dent in the hood to the right of the crest I can't see a lot wrong with it from the ad.

Definitely be cautious. I recently read about scammers contacting bidders and offering them a second chance on auction items, which they do not own or possess. Once payment was made, no exchange of goods and the scammers evaporate. If it sounds too good...

I'm not even looking, don't worry. There is no way that deal is legit.

Tell them you'll send someone down to look at the car- I might be able to head down there next week... Rennfax?

I'd need to see a clear title from them, carfax isn't always accurate.

dats my suspicion. it's either the deal of the century or priced accordingly.
I asked him why he's selling so far below market, he said he needs cash bad....

Anyone seriously looking for one should go at least check it out or get a Rennfax.

When people are desperate for $, you just never know! $40K for that would just be one hell of a deal...

Doug at DC Motors has a large bank roll and knows his cars- especially Porsches. Even a salvage car with a blown engine should be worth close to $40.

Ebay hacker, not dealer, happens a lot, won items & paid & got those scams for same item.
