Default Rubber Inspection Cover Part Number?

I'm need some help with a part number for a rubber inspection cover that sits under the coin tray/CD holder. The dealer thinks it's part of the console ~&700 CAN, but it looks to me to be part of the body.

I looked at the parts fische and can't seem to find it.

Thanks for the help,
Scott.

Take a look at PET 801-20, there are 4 lids listed at the bottom of the page, yours looks like a 100mm one?

Thanks for the info. I'll get the dealer to order it and see if it's a match. I'll post back the outcome.

Thanks again for the help,
Scott.

wouldn't it make more sense to measure first?

My plan is to measure it first, then order it. I probably should have been more clear in my reply, but the "match" in my post was refering to the actual part. I have yet to find a picture of the lid and the dealer is still thinking it's part of the console.

Slightly off topic but removing the piece of sound insulation that sits on top of that rubber cover allows more mechanical engine noise into the passenger compartment which I found quite enjoyable.

The lid that came in was aluminum so I'm still on the hunt for this if anyone has any other ideas.

Thanks,
Scott.

As Pervy said:
996.504.201.01 is an metal lid
999.703.454.40 is a rubber grommet with hole inside
996.504.217.01 is a rubber cover plug (this one is like the metal but in rubber)
unfortunately I cannot see the picture I presume you posted.
If you do not load photos on rennlist, a lot of browsers omit them, so I cannot tell which one you want

Thanks geolab. The dealer is adamant the 996 one is tin, so I've orderd the 964 one. It's in Germany and won't be here for 3 to 4 weeks. I'll post back then.

Thanks again for the help with this,
Scott.

That is way beyond the level of help I was expecting from rennlist. Thank you very much for ordering the part. I was getting a little frustrated with the dealer telling me "all" the plugs labeled rubber were labeled wrong.

Can I send you anything from Canada – Maple Syrup, Smoked Salmon, Crown Royal, Celine Dion?

Thanks again,
Scott.
